Michilyn

Historically, Americans have moved westward. Lately, the movement has been to the south as well as the west. Outmigration from our de-industrializing area has increased, and many are heading to Florida, Wyoming and Arizona. But there is a new twist on an old story. A significant number of Michigan's young people are heading back to a region that does not exactly qualify as a new frontier--it was one of our earliest settlments, specifically, New York City, more specifically the Borough of Brooklyn. More on this trend later.
